What do I need to install a Level 2 EV charger at home?
A dedicated 240-volt circuit, usually 40 to 60 amps, plus enough spare capacity in your electrical panel to carry it alongside your AC, pool pump and everything else.
How does low-voltage landscape lighting work?
A transformer plugged into an outdoor GFCI outlet steps household power down to 12 volts, which runs to LED fixtures along paths, trees, walls and the house through buried cable. It's safe, efficient and flexible.
Why do breakers trip more in the Phoenix summer?
Heat. Breakers are thermal devices, and a panel sitting in a 120°F garage or on a sun-baked wall runs closer to its trip point. Add the AC running all day, and marginal circuits start tripping.
How do I know if my electrical panel needs to be upgraded?
Consider an upgrade if your panel is full, 30+ years old, warm to the touch, corroded, or made by Federal Pacific, Zinsco or Challenger, or if you're adding an EV charger, pool, spa, casita or major remodel.
What does an electrical inspection include?
A thorough inspection covers the service and panel, breakers and wiring connections, grounding and bonding, GFCI and AFCI protection, outlets and switches, outdoor and pool circuits, and signs of overheating or DIY work.
